The number of days our Baby Scrapling has been in Scrap/y's belly.
Days seem to fly...we didn't realize we started the 3rd Trimester last week. Much has happened though...
Remy turned two! But he got a whole blog post about it, so we will move on...
We went on a 2-week Babymoon to Alaska & Hawaii. Originally this trip was planned as our annual "go see the homes" visit, but transformed into the Babymoon as we realized that it would likely be the last trip we take for a few months.
While we were gone, Remy stayed with one of the student spouses on base. It had been a year to the day that we had left him. Surprisingly, that caused some anxiousness for Scrap/y. Per always, Yeti was far from worried.
Alaska was a nice start to the trip. We stayed with Yeti's parents, and even got some baby shopping in. A day trip to North Pole was where the work began for us. Checking on the house, meeting up with some friends and watching what was left of winter melt away made us miss the area a little.
The leg to Hawaii was pretty much a non-event, except for the fact that as we were approaching the pattern at Honolulu International Airport, the pilot was kind enough to fly right over the resort we were staying at - The Aulani Disney Resort. What a place! It's nestled on our favorite side of the island, and conveniently near our home in Ewa Beach.
Again, after taking care of business (checking up on the house) we got to enjoy about 3 days of this magical place. Mickey, Minnie and Goofy were frequently seen about the area...the bump even got some love!
Getting away was most certainly nice, eventhough we missed our dog and our house. While we were away, we sent out these custom scratch-off cards that Scrap/y designed to reveal the gender of the baby.
For those who haven't seen it on Facebook or didn't get one in the mail...
Remy helped us accounce what we were having:
Lessons we learned on this trip:
- For starters, we are no longer cut out to hop from one plane to the next with 35-45 min between each connection.
- Work before play is a must!! Good thing that's what we had done, but it felt like a long time coming once we got all of the official business out of the way.
- 16+ hours of flying WILL swell the heck out of your calves and ankles if you are 27 weeks pregnant! And trying to run to your next connection with those swollen calves and ankles is NOT FUN!
- Bargain shopping always pays off, even if it means you have to pick up said bargain after 16+ hours of flying and right before a 3 hour drive home. :)
Ah, it is nice to be home...now we focus on getting through the remaining 11 weeks we have until we meet the little miss who will rule the house (at least in theory she will).
Think Pink!
