Kualoa Ranch

Hidden in the North Shore is Kualoa Ranch (pronounced Koo a low a).  We had never been there before so we decided to spend the day there. 

Turns out, this is where most of the movies with "tropical" themes and scenes are shot. 

Highlights of the day:  seeing the Godzilla footprints in person, and hanging out at the Secret Beach, where the movie "50 First Dates" and the shows "Off the Map" and "Lost" were filmed at.
