This is actually our second trip to Maui. On the first round, we stayed at a random hotel and went on a snuba (combination of scuba diving and snorkleing) cruise, drove the Hana Highway, went to the seven pools, found a winery, had dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise, wondered around the downtown area and went up to the volcano.

After doing all of that the first time, you are probably scratching your cranium wondering why we decided to come back. Well, we became Disney Vacation Club members and had to use some of our points or else we would lose them. In an effort to try to go to a different island, there weren't availabilities at any other hotels, with the exception of Maui. So, that brings us here again. No worries...like I said, island hopping is encouraged, well it's also cheap. For about $150, we got roundtrip tickets to Maui, and for another $99, we got to stay here...The Grand Wailea Resort.
When we checked in, we were greeted with lei and a complimentary upgrade to a 1400 sq. ft., 1 bedroom hotel room! This room is amazing! We have a special gate that we have to go through to access our room, complimentary breakfast buffet, mid-day cookies and tea, and drinks and pupus (appetizers) pre-dinner. We get unlimited fitness and business center use and have a concierge on our floor. Oh and the balcony view is phenominal. Our room is the second in awesomeness...only the two Presidential suites beat ours. We get three days and two nights of THIS!

Last night as Scrap/y was taking the panoramic picture from the balcony, we also got a free whale watching show. There were about 6 whales breeching and "playing" in front of us.
This morning, we got up bright and early (before the sunrise) to go on a snorkel cruise to Molokini. It is a small crater off the coast of Maui, full of tropical fish and the occassional turtle. On the way out there, we saw another school of whales enjoying the sunrise. It was a great morning!
Now it's time for more sun and beach!
