Last trip to Anchorage

After an intense week with packers, the next step in the move came upon us.  We sold our car to Yeti's folks, who live in Anchorage, Alaska.  It's about a 7 hour drive or a 2 hour flight in our plane.  Well, this past weekend the Alaskan Airmen's Association Trade Show was also happening in Anchorage.  To top it off, a dear friend was killed in Afghanistan, and his memorial was scheduled to be during that timeframe in Anchorage.  So, all of these reasons to get down to Anchorage...gotta do it. 

Scrap/y drove the car with Remy and Yeti flew the plane.  The plan was on the way down, Yeti would ops test the plane to make sure everything was in working order, and after we attended the memorial on Monday, the three of us would fly back together to Fairbanks, leaving the car behind. 

All went as planned.  We were able to test out Remy's car trip capabilities, and he did great.  We attended the trade show, spent some money and Scrap/y won a cool aerial photography book. 

On Monday, we attended the memorial service for Major David Brodeur, a wonderful soul taken too soon.

That night, we flew back up to Fairbanks.  The flight was great!  Remy loved it most.  Check out his new flying gear...
