Scrapling

Thus far through the pregnancy (22 weeks tomorrow), we have called this baby a Baby Yeti...not because we think it is a boy, but because it sounds better than Baby Perkins.

Well, after yesterday's performance from this kid, we are calling it a Scrapling!!

Yesterday was our 20 week (ish in our case) ultrasound, focused on checking for anything that might not be normal with the kid.  Most people also find out what they are having at this one.  Scrap/y did all her research before this ultrasound - what to drink, what questions to ask, etc. We bought a Sony Bloggie so we could record it, but that didn't work out (something about the hospital's policies).  She drank orange juice to make sure the kid was going to be alert and active too.  That worked alright...the kid wouldn't stop moving!

What was pretty cool was seeing in action what Scrap/y feels all the time.  The kid was practicing it's boxing moves.

That little rectangle above the fore-cranium is the little fist!
It was as if the kid could hear us trying to get it to move so we could see what it was...that's because out of the blue the technician says "it looks as though your baby is flipping you off!"  And sure enough, it looked like just that!!

The small triangle up at the top is pointing at what appears to be the baby's middle finger.

We may not know if it's a boy or girl, but that kid is definitely our spawn!!  Kid is most certainly bred from a fighter pilot dad and a high energy Scrap/y mom.

So until further notice, the baby is now going to be called Scrapling, for it's obvious desire to put on a show for us and act scrappy in the womb!  Lord only knows what we are in for in 4 months when we meet this kiddo!
