And the move keeps going...

We've been meaning to put this post up, but time just runs away from us and before you know it...we are posting really old news!  Good thing we don't have deadlines for sharing our happenings...

In case we haven't mentioned it in a while, we are still moving!  The last 3.5 months have been spent living out of suitcases.  We got notified that our stuff from Alaska arrived to Del Rio - this is our household goods shipment, which is one of two things we have to track.  The second is Yeti's old Chevy pickup.  He LOVES this truck. 

It gets about 8 miles to the gallon, has no a/c (unless you count the windows) and has no radio!  His main reason for loving it soooo much is because it was his great-grandfather's truck.  It has 50,500 original miles too...guess that's a big deal.  

Well, the Air Force shipped it for us, and we were notified that it, too, was ready for pickup.  With the both of us working essentially fulltime, in order to pick it up, we would have to capitalize on a four day weekend.  Fourth of July weekend wound up being just that. 

We set out on Friday, July 1st with Remy and two of Scrap/y's brothers.  First stop was to the Dallas Vehicle Processing Center to pick up that truck.  After we got it, we headed to Oklahoma, where Yeti's grandfather has a barn - this barn will be the truck's new home.

We had a great time at the Barn.  This is one of Yeti's favorite places to be.  It's very peaceful, open and full of adventure.  After getting in really late on Friday, we slept in until 6 a.m. (thanks to Remy) and set out for some fun at the Barn.  We jumped on 4-wheelers and Remy chased us as we went to Yeti's favorite spot on the property, a creek he calls the "hollar."

Remy ran his little heart out, and was toast by the time we got back up to the Barn. 

Considering that we were going to be in Oklahoma, we decided that we would stop over to Yeti's other grandparents house for the night and (to write the whole trip off) visit our rental home too.  Spending some extra time with Granny and Grampy was fun.  They made us Sunday morning breakfast before we hit the road back to San Antonio.

All in all, standard one-each busy weekend on the road.  It was a good trip, but we are definitely done with roadtrips for a while.
