Chocolate Mess

No matter what people say, living in an apartment is NOT the same as living in a house!

Remy has no where to run!

So we decided to take him to a Dog Park.  This would be his first time to go to one, and we were excited to see exactly how he would do.  Remy is incredibly aclimated to being around other dogs, as well as people, and he is super obedient.

The park we decided on was Hardberger Park Dog Park.  A fear we had was that it was going to be too hot to take Remy to play, but we were pleasantly surprised.  This park was very clean, umbrella'd by trees and had segregated areas for large and small dogs.  There was a small obstacle course-type thing to let him play on, and a very long water trough for the dogs.  And for our viewing pleasure, there were picnic tables for us to sit and watch our chocolate lab turn into a chocolate mess!

Yeti had a plan of attack for indoctrinating him to doggie park life.  We were going to start him off on his own with the obstacles, then introduce him to other dogs if there were some around.  The plan started off alright, but then the unexpected happened...dogs made their way over to Remy to meet him.  A little change in tactics had Remy off the leash and running crazy with his new friends.  Then...he met the water trough.  We are so proud to say that our dog LOVES the water!  When we were in Alaska, he liked to play in the water, but he didn't get much time in it because winter rolled around.  The water trough was his 1st taste of water as a dog (he turned a year old in May).

He was pretty much the only dog running through the water as if it was a ride a water park.  As entertaining as it was, we quickly came to the reality that this chocolate mess was coming home with us.  Good thing we carry a towel in the truck!
