| The newest love of our lives |
Scrap/y had her weekly appointment with the OB - two weeks before "d-day." Yeti almost didn't make this appointment because of a meeting, but somehow managed to squeeze it into his day. Everything was great, with the exception of unusually higher blood pressure. "Nothing to worry about," says the OB. "We will check it one more time after we take a look at the baby."
Of course while he was looking, we wanted one more confirmation that she was still a she. She was, and having to scoot over to his meeting, Yeti said goodbye, and darted off. That second BP check wasn't any better, so the doc said "I want for you to stop by the hospital so they can monitor you for 20 mins...I just want to make sure you are good."
That twenty minutes never ended! Scrap/y was admitted two hours later, at 4:04 pm on Aug 8th to be exact. (Fun fact: she was born at 4:04 am on Aug 5th) The OB decided that it was in the baby's best interest to be induced because the BP wasn't stabilizing. It was after 3.5 LONG and PAINFUL days (PIU) of inducing that our lives changed forever.
First of all, we were in shock at the full head of hair we saw! Unbelievable!
Secondly, Scrap/y was beyond relieved that she wasn't going to have to clean up placenta water at the house...that may or may not have been a big concern towards the end.
We are so blessed!
She's an incredible baby with so much attitude and personality, ah yes and longer hair now too. Grantid we haven't had the smoothest 6 weeks, but we wouldn't trade a second of it for the world. She's the spitting image of Scrap/y, but with Yeti ears and feet.

Much like her dad, she enjoys her sleep, particularly at night, which of course makes for a happy mommy!
Remy loves her...he had to work through some jealousy, but he's good now. He's learning to love pink. :)
We haven't quite hit a point of normal yet, but we are definitely on our way!
