Hormone Take-over!

So many of our friends (and the books we have actually been reading) warned us about hormones.  Good days, bad days...blah blah blah.

Well, it's hit this house.  This week has been a hormone rollercoaster.

Scrap/y goes from perfectly content, to blissfully happy, to absolutely irritated within seconds!  She even surprises herself at how fast her mood changes.  At first, poor Yeti fought back, but after he figured he wasn't getting anywhere, he started going with the flow.  Even Remy has started minding his own business more!

Mornings of "let me get up with you, make us breakfast and pack you a lunch" have turned into "you know where the food is, there's prolly something in the fridge you can take, I'm asleep!"

But last night, we had the biggest emotional high so far.  We bought a fetal doppler, so that we could hear the baby's heartbeat on-demand.  It came in the mail yesterday!

After being annoyed that Yeti was taking too long to get home, then realizing that he got home at a normal time, we made the mistake of starting dinner and trying out the doppler while the food was still cooking.

It was mesmerizing and addicting to hear the life Scrap/y's growing and can't even feel!  After Yeti found the heartbeat, we listened to the sound that was a cross between a train and a washing machine and were fascinated.  How freaking cool!

All the crankiness from the week was washed away by that sound, and right when it was all sinking in...the baby started running away from the probe!  We were literally "chasing" it across Scrap/y's belly!

Needless to say, dinner was a little overcooked, but it was totally ok!
